How to Use a Wheel Spinner on iPhone and Android
You can use WheelSpinnerLive on a phone by opening the website in your browser, entering your choices and tapping Spin the Wheel. There is no app to install or account to create. The important mobile details come afterward: keeping the keyboard out of the way, making labels readable and knowing where your saved list lives.
Open the wheel spinner on your phone in Safari, Chrome or another current browser. This guide focuses on mobile operation and common device limitations rather than repeating every customization option.
Add your list without fighting the keyboard
Find the Entries panel, which may sit below the wheel on a narrow screen. Tap inside the list, select the sample entries and paste one item per line. If you are copying from a spreadsheet, copy only the column containing your labels. Extra headings or blank cells can make the list harder to check.
Before spinning, dismiss the keyboard with your phone’s Done control or by tapping outside the field. Check the entry count and scroll through the list once. Avoid tapping Space while the text field is focused: it is a typing key there, not a reliable way to start a spin. The visible Spin the Wheel button is the simplest mobile control.
Make the wheel easy to read
Short labels work better than full sentences. For a small class or meeting, use a first name and initial where necessary. For choices such as restaurants, use a recognizable short name rather than a full address. The result display is more useful than trying to read every slice on a crowded wheel.
Try portrait and landscape orientation and keep whichever shows the tool more comfortably on your device. Landscape is not automatically better: a phone with a short viewport may show less vertical space. If you use Full screen, remember that browser support varies, especially on iPhone. Normal browser mode still lets you edit and spin.
Adjust settings for a phone
Open Settings to choose spin duration, sound and winner display. A short spin can make repeated classroom or event selections quicker. If the winner popup covers a control you need, read and dismiss it before editing the list. On a small screen, working one step at a time is easier than switching tabs during an animation.
If you hear nothing, check the phone’s media volume and the tool’s sound settings. Browser audio may require a direct interaction before it starts. Sound is optional and does not determine the winner. You can use the written result even when your device or surroundings make audio impractical.
Understand what your phone saves
With Save entries enabled, the current list and result history can be stored in that browser. Save settings keeps customization. Return using the same browser and browser profile. A list saved in Safari is not automatically available in Chrome, and a list saved on a laptop does not automatically appear on your phone.
Private browsing and clearing website data can remove or isolate saved state. A browser save is useful for convenience, but it should not be your only copy of an important event list. The main wheel and template pages also keep separate saved states, so check the original page if a list seems to be missing.
Move a prepared wheel from desktop to mobile
On the device containing the prepared list, open Share and use Copy share link. Send that link to the phone and open it there. It recreates a snapshot of supported entries and settings; later edits on the original device do not update that same snapshot. Create a new link when you want to send a revised version.
New short share links expire after 30 days, and large uploaded images are excluded. For a fuller transfer, download Backup JSON, move the file through a method you trust, and use Restore JSON on the destination device. Restoration replaces the active wheel, so save that wheel first. Our saving, backup and sharing guide compares the available methods.
Show a mobile wheel to a group
For a small group, show the result on the phone after the spin. For a larger audience, use your device’s supported screen-mirroring or display connection and check it before the activity. Mirroring setup depends on the phone, receiving screen and network; the wheel itself does not establish that connection.
Enable Do Not Disturb if personal notification previews could appear on a shared display, and keep private information out of labels. Read the winner aloud so participants do not have to see a tiny slice to follow the result.
Do you need an internet connection?
Load the site and any shared wheel while connected. Selection runs in the browser, but that does not mean a saved page is guaranteed to reopen offline. Shared-link creation and retrieval need a connection, and browser reloads can require network access. For an event, prepare a backup copy and confirm the tool opens on the exact phone and network you will use.
If a phone is slow, reduce unnecessary visual effects, close unused tabs and allow the current spin to finish. Repeatedly tapping Spin does not improve the draw. Check Results before deciding whether another selection is needed.
